AWStats
Generate statistics from web, streaming, ftp or mail server logfiles.
It reads log files from web, streaming, FTP or mail servers and produces graphical reports that detail visits, unique visitors, page hits, bandwidth, search‑engine keywords, operating‑system and browser usage, error codes, robots and security events. The tool can be run from the command line or as a CGI script, supporting a wide range of log formats (Apache, IIS, W3C, NCSA, etc.) and operating systems, and it can handle very large or split logs through incremental processing and optional reverse‑DNS or country lookups.
The software is written in Perl, requires only the standard Encode module, and stores its analysis data in XML for further processing. Configuration is driven by a single file, and the output can be rendered as static HTML pages, framed XHTML, or dynamic CGI pages with customizable CSS and optional PDF export. It also includes a Webmin module and supports virtual hosts, load‑balanced clusters, and various language localizations.
Released under the GPL‑3.0 license, the project is self‑hostable, free of subscription, and remains open source, though development has ceased and users are encouraged to migrate to a maintained log‑analytics solution.
