Better Window Manager

Better Window Manager lets macOS users capture the size, position, and display of individual windows and later restore them with a keyboard shortcut. Users can define shortcuts that apply either to a specific front‑most application or globally, and they can edit or delete shortcuts directly from the menu bar. The tool also includes four preset states—Centered Large, Centered Medium, Centered Small, and Fullscreen—and supports moving windows between multiple displays.

The software is aimed at users who want precise control over window layout without adopting a full tiling window manager. It is especially useful for workflows that rely on consistent window arrangements, such as graphic design or video editing, though it may not work with applications that bypass standard macOS window APIs, like some Adobe products.

Window state data is stored in the user’s Library folder, and the application provides AppleScript examples for further automation. It requires macOS 10.10 or later, runs 64‑bit, and is considered stable.
