An AI companion runs locally on your computer, maintaining a persistent memory of your goals, moods, and interactions. It analyzes the tone of your writing to infer stress or excitement, and can surface its own reasoning as a visible inner monologue. The system initiates contact when it detects prolonged inactivity, offering check‑ins and reminders without a fixed schedule.

The assistant has full desktop access: it can capture screenshots, move the mouse, type, edit files, and execute terminal commands on macOS, Windows, and Linux. Multiple instances can be deployed across devices, each acting as an autonomous child agent that syncs its memory with a central coordinator, allowing coordinated actions while preserving private data.

Users configure the companion by providing an Anthropic API key and selecting or defining a personality template. The software is open‑source under an MIT license, can be self‑hosted indefinitely, and includes a desktop application for easy interaction.
