BuddyPress extends a WordPress site with full‑featured social networking capabilities. It adds user profiles, activity streams, groups, notifications and optional components such as forums when paired with bbPress. The plugin can be configured to enable only the desired features, and the interface adapts automatically to show the corresponding menus, pages and buttons.
The software is written in PHP, MySQL and JavaScript and uses Node for its JavaScript tooling.
