Carbide Create
CAD/CAM software for CNC routers
Carbide Create provides an integrated CAD and CAM environment for designing parts and generating the toolpaths needed to machine them on CNC routers. The software supports basic 2D drawing operations such as creating shapes, splines, text, and performing Boolean operations, as well as offsetting and importing DXF or SVG files. Users can also trace images, align elements, and preview the machining process with a built‑in simulation.
Two editions are offered within the same application. The Core edition, included free with Carbide 3D machines, supplies the full set of 2D and 2.5D design tools, a library of machining operations like pockets, contours, V‑carving, and engraving, and a tool‑speed/ feed database that outputs standard G‑code. The Pro edition adds 3D modelling capabilities, advanced toolpaths, height‑map handling, STL import, and compatibility with any CNC machine.
The program is available for macOS and Windows, targeting hobbyists, makers, and small‑shop users who work with Shapeoko, Nomad, or other routers. It aims to streamline the workflow from concept to finished part by keeping design, toolpath creation, and simulation in a single, familiar vector‑graphics interface.
