ClankerPass is an experimental interactive game that presents a reverse Turing test. Players assume the role of a suspected artificial intelligence and must persuade a virtual bouncer, GATEKEEPER‑9000, that they are genuinely an AI. The interaction is limited to three messages in a single attempt, after which the system evaluates the response.

If the player succeeds, the game issues a downloadable “Clanker Pass” certificate that grants permission to use the term “clanker” without restriction. Failure prompts the player to try again, metaphorically “insert another quarter.” The game draws on the slang meaning of “clanker,” a pejorative for AI chatbots and humanoid robots popularized in recent media.
