Clearview

Clearview X is a macOS e‑book reader that supports a range of formats, including PDF, EPUB (DRM‑free), CHM, MOBI, AZW, FB2 and comic book archives such as CBR and CBZ. It offers four reading layouts—page flip, continuous scrolling, single‑page and two‑column views—so users can choose the most comfortable presentation for each file type. The interface provides adjustable text size, line height, font family, and color themes (normal, sepia, night) along with thumbnail navigation of pages.

The application integrates with Finder for library management: users can drag folders of e‑books onto Clearview’s shelf, and the program imports file information while preserving the original folder structure. Books can be organized into collections, searched by title or content, and accessed across multiple devices.

Annotations and bookmarks are available for all supported formats. PDF files support line, arrow, rectangle, ellipse, free‑draw, highlight, strike, underline, free‑text and comment tools, while EPUB, MOBI and CHM support notes, highlights, strikes and underlines. Annotations are stored in an internal database and can be exported from the shelf.
