Confluent CLI
Enables developers to manage Confluent Cloud or Confluent Platform
The command‑line interface provides a unified way for developers to interact with both the fully managed Confluent Cloud service and the self‑hosted Confluent Platform distribution of Apache Kafka. It supports common operations such as creating and configuring clusters, managing connectors, schema registries, and stream governance, as well as invoking Flink jobs for stateful streaming applications. The tool is source‑available under the Confluent Community License and is designed to facilitate learning, automation, and workflow scripting across cloud and on‑premise environments.
Supported operating systems include macOS on Intel and Apple silicon, Windows and Linux on 64‑bit Intel/AMD, and Alpine Linux on both Intel/AMD and ARM architectures. Compatibility with specific Confluent Platform versions is documented, and the binary links dynamically to glibc on non‑Alpine Linux while using static linking elsewhere.
The CLI is targeted at developers and operators who need to provision, configure, and monitor Kafka‑based streaming infrastructure without using a graphical interface, enabling scripted and repeatable management of data pipelines and associated services.
