Core Tunnel

Core Tunnel provides a graphical interface for creating and monitoring SSH tunnels and port‑forwarding configurations on macOS. It supports the full range of OpenSSH features, including local, remote, and dynamic forwarding, agent forwarding, certificates, and proxy jumps, allowing users to manage multiple connections from a single application.

The utility integrates with macOS Keychain to store passphrases securely and offers an advanced options editor that presents contextual help for individual SSH directives. It can automatically reconnect tunnels after network interruptions or when the system wakes from sleep, and it displays connection status via a menu‑bar icon for quick access without leaving the current workspace.

Additional functionality includes custom tagging for organizing large numbers of tunnels, import/export capabilities, and scriptable automation through AppleScript and Automator. The app is available for macOS 12.0 and later, with a free tier and a premium version that removes limits on the number of hosts.
