ctop
Top like interface for container metrics.
ctop presents a terminal‑based, top‑like dashboard that shows real‑time metrics for multiple containers in a compact grid. It aggregates basic statistics such as CPU, memory, network and I/O usage, and also offers a single‑container view for deeper inspection. The interface is navigable with keyboard shortcuts for filtering, sorting, and accessing container logs or an exec shell.
The tool works out of the box with Docker and runC, using the local Docker socket by default, and can be extended to other container or cluster systems through future connectors. Configuration can be saved interactively and is reloaded on subsequent runs, allowing users to persist filters, sort fields, and column settings.
ctop is distributed as a compiled binary for Linux, macOS, and Windows, and is also available via package managers such as Homebrew, MacPorts, AUR, and Scoop, as well as a Docker image. It requires no arguments to start, making it a lightweight, ready‑to‑use utility for developers and operators who need a quick overview of container performance.
