DreamFactory is a self‑hosted platform that creates governed REST APIs from any SQL, NoSQL, or structured data source. It connects to a database, introspects its schema, and automatically generates full CRUD endpoints, stored‑procedure access, relationship handling, and OpenAPI documentation, all without writing backend code. The service supports role‑based access control, API keys, and identity passthrough, allowing enterprise applications and on‑premises language models to query data through a consistent, secure gateway.
The system is built on the Laravel framework and can be deployed on‑premises, in private clouds, on edge devices, or via Docker and Helm.
