FTDI VCP Driver

The driver package provides a virtual COM port (VCP) interface for FTDI USB devices, allowing them to be presented to the operating system as standard serial ports. When installed, the USB device is mapped to an additional COM port, enabling existing software that communicates over serial interfaces to interact with the hardware without modification.

This driver is intended for developers and end‑users who need to integrate FTDI‑based hardware into applications that expect traditional COM ports, such as terminal programs, data loggers, or custom control software. It supports Windows 10, Windows 11, and Windows Server environments, with a combined installer that also includes the D2XX direct driver.
