Grimoire lets users store, organize, and retrieve web bookmarks through a modern web interface. Each bookmark can be enriched automatically with metadata such as title, description, main image and extracted content, and users may add personal notes, tags, and categories. The system supports fuzzy search, dark mode, and a companion browser extension for quick saving.
Multiple user accounts are handled, with separate collections of bookmarks, tags and categories per account. A fully documented REST API enables external tools to add or query bookmarks, and the project provides an official Docker image for straightforward self‑hosted deployment. Version 0.4 introduces a new data storage model and built‑in migration tooling for upgrades from earlier releases.
The application is open‑source under the MIT license, requires no subscription, and is intended for individuals or teams who want a locally hosted, extensible bookmark manager with automatic content extraction and API access.
