HideMyLens

Strip EXIF & GPS before you share.

Visit

HideMyLens removes hidden metadata from images, PDFs, Office documents, and videos directly in the browser, ensuring that files never leave the user’s device. It reads EXIF, GPS, author information and other embedded data, displays the extracted details, and then re‑encodes the file without that metadata. All processing is performed client‑side using standard Web APIs and libraries such as exifr and piexifjs, so no uploads or activity logs are created.

The tool supports common image formats (JPEG, PNG, HEIC, WebP) up to 50 MB and can handle PDFs, Office files, and video formats as well. Users drag or drop files, view the detected metadata, and download the cleaned version, with quality preserved at roughly 95 percent of the original. A bulk mode is available for batch cleaning in the paid tier, while the free tier limits processing to three files per day.

HideMyLens targets individuals and professionals who need to protect privacy before sharing files, offering a straightforward three‑step workflow—select, review, download—without requiring accounts or server‑side handling. The service emphasizes local processing, zero logging, and an open methodology based on publicly vetted libraries.
