Icon Shelf

A desktop utility that lets web developers keep all of their icon assets in a single, searchable interface. It can be pointed at a project’s assets folder, where it displays icons with large previews sorted by addition date, and allows creation of named collections for different projects. Icons are presented without adding extra files to the source folder, and users can drag them into design tools or copy them directly as import statements.

The tool supports generating framework‑specific code snippets for React, Vue, Svelte, Ember and similar libraries, with customizable clipboard text to match project conventions. Built‑in SVG optimization prepares icons for production use, and keyboard shortcuts streamline frequent actions such as focusing the search bar.

Collaboration is enabled by syncing the collections folder with services like GitHub or Dropbox, keeping team members aligned on icon assets across macOS, Windows, and Linux. The application is released as free, open‑source software and is considered stable.
