ID3 Editor

ID3 Editor provides a compact graphical interface for editing ID3 metadata in MP3 and AIFF files on macOS and Windows. It lets users modify common fields such as title, track number, artist, album, as well as less‑common attributes like copyright, URL, and encoded‑by, which are not exposed in some mainstream players. The program also supports embedding album artwork, handling multiple image formats (JPEG, PNG, GIF, TIFF) and converting GIF or TIFF to PNG for broader compatibility.

In addition to the GUI, the tool offers a command‑line interface that mirrors the full set of editing functions, enabling batch processing through shell or batch scripts. This is useful for automated workflows such as preparing podcast episodes or updating large music collections without manual interaction.

The editor includes specialized drawers for lyrics and classical tags (conductor, lyricist, publisher, orchestra, soloist) and a group‑editing mode that displays shared fields across multiple tracks, allowing bulk updates of common information like artist, album, copyright, or artwork in a single window.
