Sony Imaging Edge Desktop

The application provides a desktop environment for working with RAW files from Sony cameras and for controlling the camera remotely during shooting. It supports tethered operation over USB, Wi‑Fi, or LAN, showing a live view that can be refined with grids, guides, and focus magnification, and it allows on‑the‑fly adjustments of settings such as Creative Look and white balance. For supported models, Composite RAW and Pixel Shift Multi Shooting are available, enabling high‑precision captures with minimal shake.

Image browsing is offered in thumbnail, preview, and comparison layouts, with the ability to rate, label, and apply batch edits. Ratings can be written to XMP files for compatibility with other software. The viewer connects directly to the remote shooting function, displaying results instantly and preserving the original colour and tone of RAW captures.

The edit module delivers extended RAW processing and composite RAW compositing, allowing batch output to TIFF or JPEG while incorporating adjustments made in the editor. These tools are aimed at photographers who need integrated RAW development, remote shooting, and workflow automation on macOS.
