ioBroker

Integration platform for the Internet of Things, focused on building automation, smart metering, ambient assisted living, process automation, visualization and data logging.

ioBroker provides a self‑hosted integration platform for Internet‑of‑Things applications, especially building automation, smart metering, ambient assisted living, process automation, visualization and data logging. It stores configuration objects and real‑time states in an in‑memory database that can be persisted to disk or backed by Redis, and it uses a publish/subscribe model to keep connected systems synchronized.

Adapters are separate processes that link external devices, services or software to the broker’s databases. They can be written in many languages and run on any network‑accessible host, allowing a wide range of IoT hardware and cloud services to interoperate through a common schema. The platform runs on any OS supporting Node.js, including ARM and x86 hardware, and each adapter typically consumes 10–60 MB of RAM.

The project is released under the MIT license, maintained as a stable open‑source codebase, and includes installers for Linux and Windows. Documentation, a public forum, and a catalog of available adapters support users in deploying and extending the system on premise.
