JankyBorders

A lightweight window border system for macOS.

Source

JankyBorders adds colored borders to windows on macOS 14.0 and later, highlighting the active window without using the accessibility API, which makes it faster than similar utilities. It can be installed via Homebrew and configured through command‑line options, a configuration file in ~/.config/borders/bordersrc, or by invoking a new instance to modify a running process. The tool works with window managers such as yabai and AeroSpace, allowing users to specify border color, width, style, and DPI handling at launch or during runtime. Documentation is provided via a manual page and an online wiki, and the project is released as open‑source software under a free‑tier license, with a stable maturity level.
