JQuake

JQuake is a desktop application that visualizes seismic activity across Japan in real time. It connects to the high‑density strong‑earthquake observation network operated by the National Research Institute for Earth Science and Disaster Prevention (NIED), displaying detected tremors, intensity maps, and related data in an easy‑to‑read format. The software also integrates emergency earthquake warnings and tsunami information, presenting them together for quick situational awareness.

The program runs on macOS, with versions available for Windows and Linux, and is designed for users who need up‑to‑date seismic information, such as emergency responders, researchers, and the general public interested in earthquake monitoring. It alerts users instantly when a quake is detected and shows the magnitude and acceleration values where available.
