LED AppBar

A scrolling LED ticker pinned to your Windows desktop edge.

Visit

A Windows utility pins a scrolling LED dot‑matrix display to the top edge of the screen, using the native AppBar API so maximized windows reserve its space instead of overlapping it. The bar can show any web page, with the default being an LED‑style news ticker that aggregates RSS feeds and WebSocket streams, and it can be repurposed as a clock, stock ticker, Twitch chat viewer, or other continuously scrolling content.

The tool supports multiple monitors, allowing the user to select which screen hosts the bar, and offers five height presets ranging from 40 to 120 pixels. It automatically hides when a full‑screen application runs, and can start with Windows via a single tray‑menu command. Rendering relies on a ~22,000‑glyph bitmap font atlas to keep the dot‑matrix pattern crisp and consistent.

The project is open source under the MIT license, with source code available on GitHub. It runs on 64‑bit Windows 10 or 11, is not code‑signed, and is offered on a “pay what you want” basis.
