LedgerSMB

LedgerSMB is a web‑based double‑entry accounting system that combines core financial functions with ERP capabilities such as quotations, order processing, invoicing, project tracking, timecards, inventory control, shipping, and fixed‑asset management. It stores data in PostgreSQL, supports multi‑currency accounting, and can generate output in PDF, HTML, CSV, ODF and other office formats. The application includes an integrated e‑mail feature for sending documents with PDF attachments and offers customizable templates for customer‑visible output.

The software targets small and midsize businesses that need an integrated solution for accounting, sales, purchasing, and inventory without vendor lock‑in. It is designed to handle thousands of weekly transactions and can be deployed in environments ranging from modest monthly volumes to larger data sets, with features that can be enabled as required. International users benefit from translation support for dozens of languages.

LedgerSMB is self‑hosted, open‑source under GPL‑2.0, and does not require a subscription. It runs on Perl 5.38+ with a PostgreSQL 14+ backend and is served through standard web servers such as nginx or Apache. Docker images are provided for quick setup, and the project emphasizes correctness, performance, and usability for both small and growing enterprises.
