Liwan
Privacy-first web analytics.
Liwan provides a self‑contained web analytics solution that runs on a single binary without requiring a database or complex configuration. Users add a one‑line, sub‑1 KB tracking script to any site, and the service records visits, page views, referrers and other standard metrics while filtering out bots and crawlers by default.
The platform is built in Rust with asynchronous I/O, allowing it to operate on low‑cost hardware such as a cheap VPS, an older Mac mini, or a Raspberry Pi. It stores all collected data on the host server, eliminating cookies, cross‑site tracking and persistent identifiers, which ensures that visitor privacy is preserved without external services.
Liwan is released under the Apache‑2.0 license, making the code fully open source and modifiable. It offers real‑time dashboards that update automatically as traffic arrives, and its lightweight design and simple deployment target developers and site owners who need accurate analytics while maintaining strict privacy guarantees.
