Lyn

Lyn is a macOS‑only application that lets photographers, graphic artists and web designers browse, view and lightly edit large collections of media. It presents images in four preset layouts that can be customized, and supports every image format natively handled by macOS, including HDR and RAW files, as well as QuickTime videos and PDFs.

The program offers non‑destructive editing through a dedicated inspector where users can adjust exposure, color temperature, contrast, curves, levels, and apply effects such as black‑and‑white conversion, sepia, vignette or film grain. Changes are stored as attributes and merged only on export, preserving the original files. Metadata, including IPTC fields, can be inspected and edited, and geotagged photos can be positioned on a map via drag‑and‑drop.

Lyn also provides tools for organizing and sharing: smart folders enable personalized searches, and images can be exported directly to services like Flickr, Dropbox and SmugMug. Full‑screen browsing, slideshows with music, and integration with Aperture, iPhoto, Photos and Lightroom libraries round out its feature set.
