Micro.blog
Microblogging and social networking service
The native macOS client provides a desktop interface for the Micro.blog microblogging service. It is a free download that runs on macOS 11 Big Sur and newer, with legacy builds available for earlier OS versions. After signing in via a web browser, users can create and edit posts, upload images and videos, and manage drafts directly from the app. The client also supports publishing to external blogs such as WordPress by configuring a site URL in the preferences.
In addition to standard posting, the application includes specialized panes for searching and linking to books, movies, and TV shows, allowing users to embed related media and notes in their entries. Context‑menu actions let users copy URLs or open media items, and video handling has been expanded with preview windows and dimension attributes. The upload pane refreshes automatically, and the app offers a cancel button for ongoing video uploads.
The software targets individuals who maintain personal blogs or microblogging feeds and prefer a native macOS experience. Its distinctive features are the built‑in media‑search sidebars, private note support for books, and a set of UI refinements such as updated icons and toolbar visibility fixes, all delivered through a regularly updated, stable desktop client.
