Mobilizon

Mobilizon provides a self‑hostable platform for creating, sharing, and discovering events and groups. Users can draft, publish, and edit events, attach them to personal calendars, and send email notifications to participants. A search function allows filtering by keyword, location, or date, and activities that recur throughout the year can be managed similarly. Groups have public pages where members post content, manage membership, and control private material, while visitors can browse and join groups without registering.

The software operates within a federated network, enabling multiple independent Mobilizon instances to interconnect and exchange event data across the fediverse. This design avoids a single centralized service and allows each community to maintain its own server while still reaching a broader audience. An API supports import and export of events in standard formats such as  and RSS, and the interface is available in over twenty languages with global geocoding.

Targeted at cooperatives, activist associations, public institutions, and teams, Mobilizon offers moderation tools for administrators to report and remove unwanted content. The project is released under the AGPL‑3.0 license, is free of subscription fees, and is considered stable for production use.
