Monarch
Spotlight Search
Monarch provides a system‑wide overlay that lets macOS users launch actions, retrieve information, and manage content without leaving their current workspace. It combines a searchable interface with utilities such as a calculator, unit and currency conversion, date arithmetic, and variable storage, allowing quick numeric tasks. System controls are exposed through commands that can hide apps, lock the screen, adjust volume or microphone, and access deeper settings like display, Touch ID, wallpaper, and keyboard.
The overlay also maintains an unlimited, searchable clipboard history that can be filtered by application or content type, with the ability to rename frequently used items. Browser bookmarks are reachable directly, and notes can be created in markdown from any context, saved locally and compatible with tools such as Obsidian. All features are designed to be invoked with keyboard shortcuts, keeping the user in flow.
Monarch targets both novice and advanced macOS users who want a fast, keyboard‑driven way to perform everyday tasks, access system settings, and organize copied data or notes without switching apps. Regular updates incorporate user‑suggested enhancements, and the app runs on macOS 12+ with upcoming Intel support.
