OpenLens
Open source build of Lens Kubernetes IDE
OpenLens provides a binary distribution of the open‑source portion of the Lens Kubernetes IDE, allowing developers to manage Kubernetes clusters without a required login. The repository supplies signed binaries for macOS, Linux, and Windows, and includes an auto‑updater that activates for each download tagged as “Latest.” It does not modify the upstream source code; any software issues should be reported in the original Lens repository.
The build supports extensions, with popular ones such as @alebcay/openlens-node-pod-menu installable through the Extensions page. Users may need to restart OpenLens to enable extensions that toggle between enabled and disabled. The documentation notes that removing old configuration files or extensions from previous Lens installations can resolve missing pod log displays.
Installation is available via platform‑specific package managers—Homebrew for macOS, standard .rpm/.deb/AppImage packages for Linux, and Scoop, Winget, or Chocolatey for Windows—plus direct downloads from the releases page. The project is maintained under an MIT license and is considered stable.
