Part-DB

Part‑DB provides a web‑based inventory system for electronic components, allowing users to catalog parts with categories, footprints, manufacturers, multiple store locations and price data. Files such as datasheets and images can be attached, and parts can be tagged for flexible organization. The interface is responsive, supporting desktop, tablet and smartphone browsers without additional client software.

Access control is handled through a user and with groups and fine‑grained permissions, offering two‑factor authentication via Google Authenticator or Webauthn/U2F and optional SAML single sign‑on through services like Keycloak. An event log records changes and permits reverting to earlier versions. Import and export tools cover parts, data structures and KiCad BOMs, while project management features let users assemble BOMs, evaluate build feasibility and withdraw required components directly from the database.

The application runs on MySQL, SQLite or PostgreSQL and includes barcode/label generation, webcam scanning, multilingual support, parametric search, automatic thumbnail creation and integration with cloud providers (e.g., Octopart, Digi‑Key, Farnell, LCSC, TME) for part information, datasheets and pricing. An API and KiCad integration enable external access and use as a central parts source.
