PDF-Over

The application enables users to apply a qualified electronic signature to PDF documents using the Austrian Bürgerkarte or ID Austria, providing a legally equivalent alternative to handwritten signing. Documents can be opened directly or via drag‑and‑drop, after which a signature box is placed at the desired location and the signing process is completed through the ID Austria app.

Customization options include a visible signature box that can be edited, a predefined profile for official signatures, the ability to replace the box with an arbitrary image such as a company logo, and an invisible signature stored only in the PDF metadata while retaining full validity. The tool also supports PDF/A compatibility.

The software runs on macOS (Intel and ARM), Windows, and Linux, with the current stable release supporting only 64‑bit systems. An automatic update feature is available, with the option to disable it in advanced settings.
