PdfDing

PdfDing is a self‑hosted web application that lets users store, view, and edit PDF files from any device. The interface runs in a browser, remembers the last reading position, and provides basic annotation tools such as text insertion, highlighting, drawing, and signature placement. PDFs can be organized into workspaces and collections, tagged with multiple levels, starred, or archived, and highlights and comments can be exported from dedicated sections.

The platform supports sharing PDFs through public links or QR codes with optional access control, and it integrates with external identity providers via OpenID Connect for single‑sign‑on. Account security can be hardened with two‑factor authentication using TOTP or WebAuthn. Users can customize the appearance with dark mode, inverted colors, theme colors, and several layout options.

PdfDing is distributed under the AGPL‑3.0 license, runs in Docker containers for easy deployment, and is designed to be minimal and fast without requiring a subscription. It offers full data ownership, making it suitable for individuals or organizations that prefer to keep their PDF collections on their own infrastructure.
