Postico

Postico is a native macOS application that provides a graphical interface for interacting with PostgreSQL‑compatible databases. It lets users browse schemas, view and edit table data, and run SQL queries through a multi‑file query editor that supports tabs, folders, autosave, and integration with external editors. The editor also includes built‑in formatting via pgFormatter.

The tool offers a visual table‑structure editor where columns, indexes, and constraints can be added or modified, with an optional raw DDL view for advanced users. A function editor enables editing of stored procedures, and a distraction‑free update system applies background updates without interrupting work. Connection management is streamlined, allowing servers to be organized into nested groups, filtered, and synchronized via iCloud or Dropbox, with support for startup queries and read‑only modes.

Postico extends its compatibility beyond PostgreSQL to include Amazon Redshift, Greenplum, and CockroachDB, providing a consistent experience for researchers, analysts, developers, and students who need to manage and query data on macOS.
