Prepros
Web development companion
Prepros watches your project files, automatically compiles languages such as Sass, Less, Stylus, Tailwind, Pug, and TypeScript, and bundles JavaScript modules from npm without requiring a separate configuration step. It highlights syntax errors directly in the source, letting developers spot problems quickly. The tool also includes a built‑in HTTP/HTTPS server that can serve files locally or proxy external sites, and it offers network preview via QR codes for testing on mobile devices.
When a file changes, Prepros reloads connected browsers and synchronizes scroll position, mouse actions, keyboard input, and form data across multiple devices, simplifying cross‑browser testing. It can minify JavaScript and CSS, compress images, and export or upload the finished assets using FTP/SFTP, helping reduce bandwidth and streamline deployment.
Additional utilities include an npm package manager for searching and installing modules, a remote console for viewing mobile browser logs (beta), and selectable dark or light UI themes. The application runs on macOS, Windows, and Linux and is positioned as a stable, all‑in‑one companion for web development workflows.
