The layout keeps the standard QWERTY key arrangement while adding dedicated keys for accented characters and special symbols needed in French, Italian, German and a range of other European languages. Because no primary keys are relocated, users familiar with QWERTY can type in those languages without relearning positions, and the extra keys provide quick access to diacritics and language‑specific punctuation.

In addition to multilingual support, the layout includes keys for common mathematical symbols, currency signs and Greek letters, allowing users to insert technical notation without switching keyboards or using compose sequences.
