Readflow

Lightweight news reader with modern interface and features: full-text search, automatic categorization, archiving, offline support, notifications.

Readflow aggregates articles from any source into a single web interface, allowing users to browse, search, and organize their reading material. It supports full‑text search, automatic categorization, and user‑defined categories, while also offering offline access by saving articles locally in formats such as HTML, PDF, EPUB, or ZIP. Notifications inform users when new content is available, and a progressive web app provides a consistent experience on desktop and mobile devices.

The system is self‑hostable and distributed under the AGPL‑3.0 license, with installation options that include Go binaries, pre‑compiled releases, Docker images, and Docker Compose. Configuration is managed through a TOML file, and the service exposes a GraphQL API for programmatic interaction. A command‑line client enables article and category management, and authentication can be performed via Basic Auth or OIDC Device Code Flow.

Readflow also includes a Model Context Protocol server that makes article and category data available to AI assistants and LLM tools, supporting read‑only operations such as listing articles, retrieving specific items, and generating summaries or category suggestions. The project is stable, free of ads and trackers, and encourages extensions through webhooks and a scripting engine.
