Sabaki
Go board and SGF editor
Sabaki provides a graphical board for playing and reviewing Go (also known as Baduk or Weiqi) games, together with a full‑featured SGF editor. It lets users mark positions with lines, arrows, and other annotations, embed multiple games in a single SGF file, and write comments in Markdown. The editor includes an intelligent scoring tool that can estimate area or territory counts and display which player is ahead during a game, with the ability to toggle life‑and‑death status for groups.
The application supports navigation of complex game trees, allowing fast browsing of variations and large joseki dictionaries. Stone placement is intentionally “fuzzy,” giving a slightly imperfect, organic feel that mimics a real goban. Sabaki can connect to external Go engines via the Go Text Protocol, enabling human‑vs‑engine play, engine‑vs‑engine matches, or analysis of moves.
Designed with web technologies on Electron, Sabaki runs on macOS and other platforms, is free and open source, and invites contributions through its GitHub repository.
