Users can create entries for available food, specify quantities and timeframes, and flag items that require immediate distribution. The system also allows recipients to browse listings, request items, and arrange handoffs directly through the board.

By centralising these postings, the tool aims to streamline the coordination of food donations, reducing waste and helping organisations quickly connect excess inventory with those experiencing shortage. It tracks the status of each posting, making it easier to monitor which items have been claimed and which remain available.

The service is intended for local groups that manage food redistribution, offering a simple, web‑based interface for posting, searching, and managing food handover logistics. It is currently in an experimental stage.
