Tracks
Web-based application to help you implement David Allen’s [Getting Things Done™](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Getting_Things_Done) methodology.
Tracks is a web‑based tool designed to support the Getting Things Done™ workflow. It runs on Ruby on Rails and includes a built‑in web server, allowing installation on any operating system that can run Ruby, such as macOS, Windows, or Linux. The application is open source, free under GPL‑2.0, and can be self‑hosted without a subscription.
The interface presents actions sorted by context, with optional views filtered by a single context or project. Users can create unlimited contexts and projects, reorder them by drag‑and‑drop, and mark projects as active, hidden, or completed. Tagging and a starring feature provide additional ways to categorize and prioritize tasks, while notes can be attached to both projects and individual actions.
Adding new actions is performed through Ajax‑enabled forms that update the page instantly, and auto‑completion of existing context and project names reduces input effort. The system also offers history tracking, progress measurement, and various integration points for further interaction.
