Upvote RSS

Generate rich RSS feeds from Reddit, Hacker News, Lemmy, Mbin, and more.

Upvote RSS is a self‑hostable utility that creates rich RSS feeds from a variety of social aggregation sites, including Reddit, Hacker News, Lemmy, Lobste.rs, PieFed, Mbin, and GitHub. Users configure a feed by selecting a platform, specifying communities or subreddits, and applying filters such as score thresholds, posts‑per‑day limits, or NSFW handling. The service can embed media, extract clean article content, add featured images, and optionally generate AI‑based summaries with support for several providers.

The generated feeds include metadata like estimated reading time, scores, permalinks, and top comments, with options to filter out pinned moderator comments or old posts. A preview interface lets users see which items will appear before copying the RSS URL into any feed reader. The application runs via Docker or a manual PHP installation, and configuration can be extended through environment variables for caching, AI summarization, and other integrations.

Upvote RSS is released under the MIT license, is classified as stable, and offers a free‑tier, subscription‑free experience. Its distinctive features are the breadth of supported platforms, fine‑grained filtering, media embedding, and optional AI summaries, all delivered as an open‑source, self‑hosted service.
