Visage provides a self‑hosted web analytics solution that records visitor counts, referral sources, and page views without using cookies or storing personal identifiers. The tracker is lightweight, transmitting less than 2 KB per request, and all data remains on the user’s own server, eliminating reliance on third‑party services.

Designed for privacy, Visage does not set cookies, retain IP addresses, or create cross‑site identifiers; optional coarse geolocation uses the IP only to derive country and city before discarding it. This default behavior aligns with GDPR requirements and removes the need for cookie consent banners.

The software is free and open source, with a simple deployment process and an export feature that lets administrators download the collected statistics at any time. It targets developers and site owners who want basic traffic insights while maintaining strict privacy controls.
