WeweChat is an unofficial desktop client for the WeChat messaging service, built with React, MobX and Electron. It connects to the web API at web.wechat.com, providing a native‑looking interface on macOS, Linux and Windows. The application supports typical chat functions such as sending text, images, files, voice notes, stickers, GIF emojis, and location data, as well as receiving messages and notifications.

The client adds desktop‑specific features including window vibrancy on macOS, block of message recall, keyboard shortcuts for common actions, drag‑and‑drop file sending, batch message sending, and customizable preferences. Notifications are delivered through the operating system, and users can toggle full‑screen mode or keep the window on top.

Installation is offered via downloadable binaries for each platform, with macOS distribution provided as a DMG or via Homebrew‑Cask, Linux as .deb, .rpm, or AppImage packages, and Windows as an executable installer. The project is maintained as a stable release and includes source scripts for building and packaging.
