WezTerm

WezTerm is a terminal emulator that runs on Linux, macOS, Windows 10, FreeBSD and NetBSD. It is written in Rust and leverages GPU acceleration to render text and graphics efficiently. The emulator supports true‑color output, ligatures, color emoji, and dynamic color schemes, and it provides built‑in handling of hyperlinks and font fallback.

In addition to basic emulation, the software includes a multiplexer that can create and manage multiple panes, tabs, and windows both locally and on remote hosts. Users can control these elements with native mouse support and scrollback, and the tool offers a set of commands for connecting to remote sessions, recording and replaying terminal activity, and managing SSH, TLS, and WSL domains.

Configuration is performed through Lua scripts and a searchable reference, allowing users to customize key assignments, color palettes, and plugin behavior. The project is marked as stable and targets developers who need a performant, cross‑platform terminal with advanced rendering and multiplexing capabilities.
