Xemu
Original Xbox Emulator
The software emulates the hardware of the original Microsoft Xbox, allowing users to run Xbox titles and homebrew applications on Windows, macOS, and Linux. It provides low‑level emulation that aims for high compatibility with kernels, games, and other software designed for the console.
Support for up to four controllers is provided through SDL3, and the emulator offers save‑state functionality so the current machine state can be stored and restored at any point. Render scaling lets users increase the in resolution from the native 480 p up to 1080 p, and networking features enable connections to other emulator instances or real Xboxes, including support for tunneling services and Xbox Live recreation projects.
The project is free, open source, and available as prebuilt binaries for all three platforms, with source code hosted on GitHub for those who wish to build it themselves. A community of Xbox enthusiasts maintains compatibility reports and offers assistance via Discord.
