teleport
Virtual KVM
Teleport enables a single keyboard and mouse to control multiple macOS machines. The client component captures input from the local device and sends it to a remote Mac, while the server component lets a remote Mac control the local system’s keyboard and pointing device. Pasteboard synchronization allows users to copy and paste text between the connected computers.
The software is distributed as a macOS application that can be installed manually or via Homebrew. It is a stable, legacy project that has been open‑sourced after being discontinued; the current maintainer continues to ensure that the core client, server, and pasteboard features work on recent macOS releases such as Big Sur. Additional capabilities like file drag‑and‑drop, encrypted traffic, and status displays exist but are not officially supported and may be removed.
Teleport is aimed at users who need to switch quickly between several Macs without multiple peripherals, such as developers, designers, or anyone working across multiple workstations. Contributions are welcomed, but no new features are planned beyond maintaining compatibility with the latest macOS versions.
