AFFiNE Community Edition is an open‑source, privacy‑focused workspace that unifies documents, whiteboards, and databases on a single edgeless canvas. Users can place rich text, sticky notes, embedded web pages, shapes, and slides together, allowing writing, drawing, and planning to happen in the same view. The platform supports local‑first storage, so data resides on the user’s disk, while also offering real‑time synchronization for collaborative editing across web and desktop clients.

The system includes an AI partner that can generate slides from outlines, summarize articles into mind maps, and assist with task organization, extending the creative workflow without leaving the application. Templates for planners, storyboards, checklists, and other project types are provided out of the box, helping individuals and teams start quickly.

Because the code is released under the MIT license, the software can be self‑hosted, forked, and extended.
