AirBuddy

AirBuddy provides a macOS interface for monitoring and managing nearby wireless devices such as AirPods, Beats headphones, iPhones, Macs, and Apple peripherals. By opening a device’s case near the Mac or using a custom keyboard shortcut, users can view battery status and other information in a compact menu‑bar icon. The app also offers configurable battery alerts that notify when a device’s charge falls below a user‑defined threshold, with settings synchronized across multiple Macs.

In addition to status displays, AirBuddy enables quick actions through global shortcuts, allowing users to toggle listening modes, connect to the nearest headset, or retrieve a device’s status from any application. Integration with macOS Shortcuts lets users build automations that query battery levels, connection state, and perform connect or disconnect actions for supported devices.

The software further supports “Magic Handoff,” a one‑click transfer of Magic Mouse, Keyboard, or Trackpad control between Macs running AirBuddy, simplifying shared peripheral usage. The application is stable and targeted at macOS users who need centralized, real‑time control of their Apple wireless ecosystem.
