Airfoil
Sends audio from computer to outputs
Airfoil lets a Mac stream any audio it is playing to other devices on the same network. It captures sound from sources such as music services, web browsers, or any application, and transmits it wirelessly to compatible receivers including Apple TV, HomePod, Google Chromecast, Sonos speakers, Bluetooth speakers, and other computers or mobile devices. The program can send the same audio to multiple outputs simultaneously, keeping them in sync.
Users can organize receivers into speaker groups for whole‑house or zoned playback, and control the stream from the menu bar or via the free Airfoil Satellite companion app on iOS, Android, Windows, and macOS. Features such as auto‑transmit on launch, a silence monitor that disconnects when no audio is present, and a built‑in equalizer provide additional convenience and sound shaping. Metadata such as track titles and album art is passed along when supported, allowing receivers to display song information.
