AirScroll

AirScroll replaces the default mouse scrolling behavior on macOS with a smoothing algorithm that makes each scroll event feel continuous and fluid. It intercepts mouse input, applies adaptive acceleration and frame‑rate adjustments, and outputs a buttery‑smooth scroll that mimics the experience of a built‑in trackpad.

The utility is aimed at macOS users who regularly use external mice and find the native scrolling choppy or inconsistent, especially on high‑refresh monitors. It offers per‑application profiles, independent direction reversal for mouse versus trackpad, and a set of configurable parameters that let users fine‑tune the feel of scrolling to their preferences.

Implemented as a lightweight background service, AirScroll runs on macOS 11.5 and later and consumes minimal memory and battery. It is distributed via Homebrew, includes a 21‑day trial with all features, and requires a license key for continued use after the trial period.
