Audiobook Builder lets Mac users convert audio CDs or existing audio files into single‑track audiobooks that can be synced to iPhone, iPad, or other Apple devices. The program imports CD tracks sequentially, or lets users drag and drop ripped files, and can join them into M4A or M4B files without re‑encoding when formats are compatible. It also supports MP3 and other common audio types.

Users can define chapters with custom names and artwork, creating enhanced chapter stops that Apple devices recognize for quick navigation. The software offers preset audio quality options and allows manual selection of AAC for higher fidelity or HE‑AAC for lower data rates, targeting spoken‑word content. Finished audiobooks can be exported directly to Books, Music, or iTunes.

The application runs on macOS 10.11 and later, including Apple Silicon and Intel Macs, and supports six interface languages. Projects are saved as document files, enabling users to pause and resume work or move projects between Macs.
