The application provides a native macOS client for browsing and participating in the 5channel discussion forum. It integrates macOS technologies such as Spotlight, Quick Look, AppleScript, and Retina display support to present threads, images, and ASCII art in a visually clear and responsive interface. Users can read, post, and create new threads, with optional support for special login modes that enable posting where the web interface does not.

Management features include smart board creation based on SQLite, filters for unwanted posts using regular‑expression matching, and a search panel that can sort results by relevance. The built‑in preview inspector displays linked images and ASCII art, offering full‑screen view and EXIF data, while trackpad gestures allow quick preview of linked content.

The client also incorporates automatic update handling through Sparkle, on‑screen help documentation, and support for pressure‑sensitive trackpads and Magic Trackpad 2. It is stable on macOS Big Sur and later, targeting users who prefer a dedicated desktop experience for 5channel.
